Time Travel as a practical business platform

As enjoyable as time traveling might appear there are limitations. Ethically it would be horribly chaotic for everyone to have a forward-back-forward time machine. A homicidal time traveler could kill at a whim without any trace of his existence. Think of an even more omnipotent Jack the Ripper. A gambling time traveler could rig every betting game. A political time traveler could whisper into a politician's ear to an unsuspecting public. Academically it would be amazing to see a T-rex or to see how true the story of Eden really was. But what practical use would time travel serve to a greater public? The answer? Instant Point to Point Transport. Imagine sliding your credit card against a console at the end of your block. You use the touch screen to pick your destination. You confirm the okay button. Almost instantaneously you are on the other side of the world. For a small fee of what would cost thousands on any other day. The questions that I have pose...

Ticketmaster: Buy your ticket and go strait to hell!

Yeah so I've used Ticketmaster for a while. I believe the first concert I went to in 04' I went through Ticketmaster. Things were better then at least as far as concert going goes. For a first concert on my own, Dave Mathews wasn't that bad. Hell I'm pretty sure I got a contact high from all the pot in there. But yeah Ticketmaster was still kind of new and there was less red tape. I was able to return those Christina Aguilera tickets without a problem. A few years later I bought tickets to see Sonata Arctica in the city. They refused to honor the refund on the tickets even though I was in a hospital. Some years down the line I wanted to go down to Atlanta to see Prog Power because Diablo Swing Orchestra was going to be there. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. So I insured the tickets. Low and behold I couldn't make it. And yet another extensive hospital bill.  When trying to return the tickets. Ticketmaster diverted me to some company ...

I Miss My Blade

Its been a few months since I've even seen my blade. I am sure since being away there is some rust by now. It will require sanding, oiling and probably a lot of care. But the thing that I miss the most is my connection with the sword. I'll never use it in combat and it will never hit a hard surface. But practicing the stances, and the ritual of dueling with the ghosts of my mind has always been fulfilling. I suppose I am just being sentimental about it. It does seem like a sign that I should head home soon.

On Time We Have

Christmas has passed and that moment where I get tackled by children to the ground will always be with me. My wife and I are in our bed sharing our moment of togetherness. She laughs at something and I am asking what the joke is, "Oh its nothing just something I remembered." "What was it?" I ask. "Nothing!" she strikes. "Oh common don't make me tickle you." I say. "No...NO!" I am poised to strike and the moment I see her guard weaken I go in for the kill. "HAHAHAHA! STOP! STOP IT!" I too am laughing. This scene repeats a lot this night and our youth and energy pulls forth. In a way its something of a domino effect from our children. A lot of money has been spent this Christmas but it is for the best. It is a few hours past midnight and the two of us lock eyes. I believe its time to give my wife her other Christmas present. :) Happy New Year!
