Ticketmaster: Buy your ticket and go strait to hell!

Yeah so I've used Ticketmaster for a while.
I believe the first concert I went to in 04' I went through Ticketmaster.
Things were better then at least as far as concert going goes.
For a first concert on my own, Dave Mathews wasn't that bad.
Hell I'm pretty sure I got a contact high from all the pot in there.

But yeah Ticketmaster was still kind of new and there was less red tape.
I was able to return those Christina Aguilera tickets without a problem.

A few years later I bought tickets to see Sonata Arctica in the city.
They refused to honor the refund on the tickets even though I was in a hospital.

Some years down the line I wanted to go down to Atlanta to see Prog Power because Diablo Swing Orchestra was going to be there.
I wasn't sure if I was going to make it.
So I insured the tickets.
Low and behold I couldn't make it.
And yet another extensive hospital bill.

When trying to return the tickets.
Ticketmaster diverted me to some company Mondial or something.
I sent back the tickets in an envelope with the receipt.
They continued to ignore me and never refunded the money.
Now $120 isn't all that much on its own but its a lot when you have kitties around.

That same year I bought tickets to see Amon Tobin on some boat concert.
This was before ISAM when Amon wasn't considered "cool".
Would've been really awesome to go but unfortunately that day I couldn't find my wallet.
Without formal ID and any cash to get there those tickets were as good as Confederate dollars.
I made the lame decision to return those too with even less luck then that as those weren't insured.

If you're going to use Ticketmaster make sure you are absolutely sure you are going to be at that concert.
Otherwise you might as well feed your dollars to a paper shredder.

I find that the older the internet becomes the harder they make it to use in general.
Mapquest, googlemaps, used to be the best way of getting somewhere.
But it sure seems like they've made finding even where you are that much more complicated.
Newer doesn't always translate to better.

But for my next concert I'll be buying them at the door at least the band gets the money directly.

I hope you will do the same.
