Dan Johnson: Extracolor (Album)

I've been an avid follower of Daniel Johnson 's music now for about 5 years. Oddly enough I was on Allmusic.com and was trying to find something similar to Amon Tobin. However they made this connection is beyond me but listening to his first three known albums, Judah Johnson, Kisses and Interrogation and Be Where I Be struck a serious emotional chord with me. The lyrics to these albums are so sincere, and even influenced my own writing. I had the gall to message Dan and was pleasantly surprised by his response. Here is a real legit artist who actually tries to connect to his fanbase. Around the same time I found him he released Lazrus which has its own uniqueness to it. Some of the tracks on Lazrus have a Daft Punk vibe going but its edgier. Building Back The Guitar

September flew by California turned out to be a really good move. I put together the guitar way ahead of schedule. There were still structural issues the tail block loosened up behind and one of the ribs came loose. The soundboard came off twice because of torque from the headstock. I had to reglue it twice and I installed a woodscrew in order to pin down the soundboard. Overall for a second guitar it sounded more like a sitar. I also lost some of the waist which made it look tight and asymmetrical. The quality of the guitar is still amateur and I am considering just keeping it as a demo piece. I bought materials for a third guitar from Dave the luthier with an experimental idea in mind. It was a little harder to build then I thought making a few mistakes on cutting and shaping the soundhole.
