Walking The Beat
So for the past few weeks I've been doing extended walks.
Being consistent with Yoga has shrunk my waistline down to a 34 from an all time high of a 38 from last year!
I was also 206 pounds and since I last checked I was 190!
My back feels strong, my mind even stronger.
Since I have so much excess energy during the day I've been taking small breaks from the home life.
I always take the same route and its become sort of like a patrol.
I keep my eyes open, my ears ready, because you never know what you'll see or hear out here.
I've been thinking about having a dog around and I brought this up with my wife recently.
Unfortunately you can't always get what you want.
"So you know I was thinking lets get the kids a puppy."
"You're kidding right?"
"No, I mean common the kids would love to have a dog around."
"We lost three cats two years ago and the kids aren't 2 and 3 anymore."
"Well I mean you liked that that Siberian Husky right? Remember you said he had nice fur."
"Yes I did but I...You know how big those things get!"
"No common if we.."
She cuts me off mid sentence,
"No...Dog."
"Jesus sorry I asked!"
There's a moment of frustration for both of us but in the end we both shrug our shoulders.
But damn it would have been great to have a friend come along with me on these walks.
Still feeling healthier then when I was at the beginning of the year.
Hopefully I'll be able to run distances again, but I still think that is just a dream.
